Hispanic Communicators DFW Meeting Minutes October 9, 2016 Opening The  regular  meeting  of  the  Hispanic  Communicators  DFW  was  called  to  order  at  1:29 p.m  on  October  9   in  Univision  by  HCDFW  Board. Present Karina,  Samuel,  Jessica,  Olmar.  Brenda,  Lourdes Approval  of  Minutes All  in  favor  of  approval  previous  meeting:   Karina,  Samuel,  Olmar.  Brenda,  Lourdes Open  Issues Committee  Update Finance Cash  $120  Paypal  $2,753.55 Comerica  Bank  online  banking  is  frozen,  Karina  will  contact  Comerica and  get  statement  from  P.O.  Box Motion  to  explore  other  banking  options  (Chase,  Bank  of  America,  TX Credit  Union  and  Frost  Bank)  We  need  a  bank  that  has  longer  hours  and weekend  hours. Process  to  be  established  for  reimbursement,  Lourdes  will  develop  form  to be  presented  at  next  board  meeting Need  to  find  a  CPA  possible  organizations  to  help­  Executives  in  actions and  Wings Membership Confirm  members  prior  to  workshops/events Membership  list  doesn’t  reflect  new  members/all  members  in  DFW  (we need  to  get  new  members  to  indicate  they  are  part  of  the  DFW  NAHJ chapter) Brenda  &  Olmar  to  develop  a  tutorial  to  show  how  to  sign  up  as  NAHJ member  and  select  DFW  chapter. For  workshop  two  lines­members  and  nonmembers Once  a  quarter  send  Karina  to  include  a  reminder  in  newsletter  to  become a  member  and  the  perks  you  get  (i.e.  workshops,  nahj  benefits,  events, etc.) Volunteer  opportunity Gustavo  Bujando­  asked  if  we  could  or  would  like  to  volunteer  to  build  a playground  downtown  in  Nov.  Board  will  be  volunteering  for  Mary  Kay’s domestic  violence  event  on  Nov.  2 Discussion  was  we  should  foster  and  grow  our  sponsors  relationship particularly  volunteer  opportunities.
