Helping the next generation of journalists

Welcome to Hispanic Communicators DFW

Hispanic Communicators DFW or HCDFW is an organization of journalists, public relations, marketing, advertising professionals, educators, students and others committed to the fields of communication. We believe in furthering the visibility and role of Latinos within these fields.

Our group was founded on November 19, 1981 as the Network of Hispanic Communicators. Since then we’ve been influential in the development of the National Association of Hispanic Journalists (NAHJ) and other communications organizations. On May 28, 2008, HCDFW became an affiliate of NAHJ and is also called the Dallas/Fort Worth chapter of the NAHJ.

Celebrating 40 Years!

We are the Network of Hispanic Communicators – DFW (HCDFW), celebrating our 40th Anniversary of journalism service to Dallas/Fort Worth.

  • to advocate for positive representation of Hispanics in the media and in news coverage,
  • to promote professional development within our ranks
  • to support future generations of Latinos in our profession
