The Dallas Morning News is seeking a reporter to cover Mexico, the border and Mexico’s dynamic relationship with Texas. The ideal candidate will have strong reporting and digital storytelling skills, a deep understanding of Mexican history and politics, and a thorough grasp of the issues that unite – and divide – Texas and Mexico, including a shared history and burgeoning trade relationship, as well as drug trafficking, immigration and border security.
The successful candidate will be expected to produce both breaking and in-depth stories for multiple platforms. He or she will be expected to contribute to blogs, to produce smartphone-quality photos and video, to provide data for graphics and interactive features, and to use social media to build an audience and foster interaction and engagement.
Must be willing to travel to and from Mexico. Candidates should be willing to live in Mexico City.
