Good news for those of you considering running for a board position. We have extended the deadline until Wednesday October 2nd.
Remember, you don’t just have to be a journalist to run. If you’re in the communications field such as public relations, marketing or social media, you can run.We have been around for almost 30 years.We help future Hispanic communicators every year with scholarships.
Help keep the organization strong and diverse. Consider being part of our group.We’re always looking for fresh faces and new ideas.

CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR MEMBERS
Congratulations to our local member and NAHJ VP of Online, Rebecca Aguilar, for being honored as Best Latina Social Network Leader by Latinos in Social Media also known as LATISM. She was recognized for her work with Wise Latinas Linked on Facebook, which has 4,600 members.
Lone Star Emmy Nominations!
Best of luck to Norma Garcia, Erick Iglesias, Yezmin Thomas, the team at Telemundo-39 for 30 nominations and Univision-23 for 17 nominations. Winners will be announced Saturday, November 9th in San Antonio.
