On behalf of our organization, I hope you have a wonderful Holiday season.
I wanted to let you know that we are postponing our elections until January 2018.
As you already know, as a nonprofit organization we operate solely on volunteers like you. We are currently looking for more volunteers to be part of the executive board.
As a board member, you will represent a large and growing group of Communicators in the Dallas–Fort Worth area that need an organization like ours to represent them and support them. You would also help us continue to send future Communicators to college. This year with all the board changes, we still granted close to $18,000 in scholarships and helped some outstanding students further their education. We cut down on events to focus on this one activity alone. This was one of the reasons for our founding and something we wanted to continue. We are also living during a critical time when we need more Latinos in newsrooms in DFW and across the country. We want to continue to be that support system to our fellow members.

Again, we are postponing our elections to January so that we can find strong candidates to help carry this organization for the next two years. We know we have qualified members who can do this work and contribute to our local chapter.
