March 2016 Newsletter

A MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT

We held our first workshop, Feb. 20. It was a great event where we discussed the ins-and-outs of covering an election.

Thanks to everyone who participated and provided their suggestions on how to work with political experts, candidates and party officials during this presidential election cycle. Photos of our event are online on our Facebook page.

Our workshops will resume in May, after our gala.

Preparations for our 35th Anniversary Gala are underway and I look forward to seeing you next month to award future communicators some great scholarships. Our event again will be held April 16, at 7 p.m. at the eM The Venue. Details to follow in this newsletter.

This month we will host a special event just for members. A Google News Lab will be held March 16 at UT Arlington so you can learn the latest research tools to help enhance your career. Details of the event will be available online at www.dfwhispanic.org.

Have a wonderful March!

Sincerely,

Karina Ramirez
